NEW WEIN DIGITAL SLAVE!

You may not realize it until you attempt multiple lighting with your flash photography. If you use a manual flash system for additional lighting, you'll find that your slave will not trigger your studio flash properly. This is because most digital cameras fire a pre-flash sample (or two or three even!) before the actual flash. The problem is this pre-flash occurs very quickly before the actual pop (in the case of the Canon EOS1D- there is a 20 millisecond advance pre-flash before the actual flash). This will cause your studio flash to pop prematurely before it can recycle.

Stan Weinberg is the owner of Wein Electronics (http://www.weinproducts.com) and I had the honor to meet him personally at my studio last month. Together, we did the final calibration for the S2 flash and much to our surprise, we discovered that it DID NOT fire a pre-flash. (Pictured is Stan holding his flash-duration analyzing meter and an flash in perfect sync - you'll see it is firing - fired by an S2 with an SB-80DX flash). His new digital slave has a sliding dip switch that allows you to customize the switch for each digital camera. This device worked like a charm, and was totally compatible with my Canon EOS1 as well as my S2's.

I'm going to be offering this product in my secured cart soon, but until then- you can read more about this cool new product at: http://www.weinproducts.com/safesyncs.htm

You can probably tell by how big my smile is meeting Stan Weinberg in person. I greatly respect him as an environmental philanthropist and found that we share the same views on global warming. We're also both investors in ski resort properties and I look forward to doing many cool new projects with Stan in the near future!
