Let's do this page together. Low resolution copies of these images are provided in the "tutorial images" folder so you can create this page.
Skills learned: Insert an image, white border, drop shadow, opaque background, text.
Please get used to your new habit! - Whenever you do ANYTHING to an image (resize/add border/move... etc.) You must hold down the [CTRL] or [APPLE] key while moving the image.
....You are going to hold these buttons down a lot!

Using the "SELECT IMAGES" button, you can quickly select images from your FileBrowser and drop them directly into a new composition. First, let's select images to make the page above... SHOW ME

Reposition and resize the images using the [CTRL]- click command...

You may have to move some layers in front of others... SHOW ME

OPAQUE IMAGE: To give a "opaque background" effect to a page, select the image and then click button [8a] SHOW ME

ADD WHITE BORDERS AND DROP SHADOWS TO YOUR IMAGES: Make the images really pop off the page by adding white borders and drop shadows! SHOW ME
ADD A DROP SHADOWS TO A BACKGROUND IMAGE: You can add drop shadows to pretty much anything, text, opaque backgrounds, even things like film spool borders. It's a handy button. Here's how to add a drop shadow to a background image... SHOW ME

TILT IMAGES: You can tilt your images using what I showed you in Step 2 above. Why do I have these buttons? So it will tilt images at a fixed angle, making your book look a lot neater. Use these buttons to tilt your images... SHOW ME
